HISTORY

Marble Shadow began in 2007 under the name “Music Shadows” in Mataró (Barcelona), as a project that was started by Oriol Barber, Miquel Iñiesta and Ferran Martínez, later, Jesús Diz (Chus) joined completed the lineup. From the start, “Music Shadows” already had their own songs written Oriol Barber.

They started performing in public schools and village parties during the years 2007 and 2008. Later on, in 2009 they made the leap to the city of Barcelona, performing in several venues like the “City Hall”, where after a good reception they would continue performing in many other known venues as “Be Good”, “Be cool”, “Razzmatazz”, “Sala Bikini ” etc… They also made it to several festivals like “Wolfest Music” where they won the audience award and “The Rising fest ”, winning the award for the best guitar solo.

After more than 20 shows in the area and several lineup changes, they would do their last show as a demo band on January 23rd, 2013 at “L’ovella Negra” with Joseph Font in the drums. That show would be the last one before the studio album.

During the years 2013 and 2014, Patxi and Yusi joined the band replacing Chus on the guitars. Rehearsals for the studio album began during the fall of 2013. During the spring of 2014 Yusi left the band due to personal reasons and lack of time to dedicate to the band. Later, Patxi would leave and the band took a time off afterwards.

The Real World

In 2017 Oriol started preparing the studio record calling back Yusi on the lead guitars, Chus on the guitars and backing vocals, Joseph on the drums and several other guest musicians like Elisa C. Martin (ex Dark Moor, ex Fairyland, Hamka), Raúl López, Aarón Lopez and Joan Bernaus on the bass. Once the whole lineup was in, they started recording the album in November 2016 with Angel Poncela (Arpa de Noé) as the studio technician. After a recording that lasted more than a year the recordings were paused for two years and resumed in 2019 ending in early 2020 and finally being released on November 5th, 2020.

During a period of rehearsals in 2019, Chus left the band leaving his boots yet to be filled.

At this moment, the situation we are living does not allow Marble Shadow to perform their newly released record in the stages although they are ready to make the audience jump and vibrate in an inaugural live show that will take place in Barcelona’s iconic venue “Razzmatazz” as soon as the culture is accepted again.
